Card Access System Benefits
Proximity card reader is weather proof unlike "swipe" technology
The cards that are issued are as thin as a credit card and can be pinned to a shirt enabling someone to enter a door while carrying equipment. The key chain fob allows you to have access readily available.
Cards can be programmed for one site or hundreds of sites so personnel responsible for multiple sites no longer have to keep track of multiple keys.
The ability to deactivate a card remotely gives the tower site owner / operator the security of knowing they don't have to recover a key or worry that a key has been duplicated if an employee was working temporarily or terminated.
Detailed logs of entries that include date, time, and number of who has entered a site prove invaluable to sites with multiple companies sharing space. In a shared site, knowing who has entered and what cabinets have been opened offers added security to tenants.
The use of non-OEM parts or modifications to original equipment design will void the manufacturer warranty and could invalidate the assurance of complying with FAA requirements as published in Advisory Circular 150/5345-43.
